Comfort Food
You know what I’m talking about
When I had our first baby, my friend dropped off a thanksgiving feast. This was the most delicious and strangest meal I’ve ever had in the summertime. But man alive was good. When we experienced our first miscarraige, my neighbor dropped off buttered chicken & naan. One of my favorite comfort food meals. And when my dad lost his wife of 30 + years the food just kept coming. It felt like magic. A meal would just arrive on our breeze-way, seemingly out of nowhere. Hard seasons are inevitable and sometimes they kinda feel like they are never gonna end, but food helps. In grief, sorrow, seasons of doubt, what have you, there’s honestly not much you can do but wait, pray and eat. So if you’re gonna eat, make something really delicious while you wait for that miracle or while you’re waiting for the sting of death to subside.
